Challenge
This project focused on learning more complex After Effects expressions and rigging to be used in various cases. While learning these tools, I also wanted to experiment with fake 3D in a more 2D style. The combination of which resulted in this animation. Focusing on the interactions of shapes within shapes.

Process
Rigging With Expressions
One of the main expressions I experimented with in this piece was "linear" expressions. Interpolating input values of one property to the output values of another, or in this case to slider controls. Allowing for control over numerous nulls with a small amount of control properties. As well as controlling properties from other compositions.
Proximity Animation
Continuing to experiment with linear expressions, they were also used to save a little animation time. Interpolating the opacity of the square panels based on the position of the bouncing ball. Where the closer the ball gets to the panel, the brighter it becomes. Creating an almost proximity or field-like tool that is more often found in 3D software.
